Purple Light-up
During the "Campaign to Eliminate Violence Against Women," the Cabinet Office is calling for the implementation of a "Purple Light-up," in which landmarks and other places around the country are lit up in purple, in honor of the purple ribbon, which is a symbol of the eradication of violence against women.
The Purple Light-up calls for the widespread eradication of all violence against women, and conveys the message to victims, "Don't suffer alone -- first seek advice."
Every year, during the campaign period (November 12th to November 25th), towers, commercial facilities, castles, and other places around the country that agree with this purpose are lit up in purple. The goal is to light up as many landmarks and other places as possible in all prefectures so that this message can be delivered to as many people as possible.
