The Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, will hold a symposium with distinguished female journalists from Japan and Asia Pacific countries.
The symposium will focus on female journalists’ “sending out messages” and “takeoff” -- both terms are “Hasshin” in Japanese. It will feature articles authored by female journalists, their experiences and challenges, and issues to address for further advancement of women in the media.
Participants will have a group discussion and an international get-together with female journalists. In addition to Japan, female journalists from the following countries will take part in the symposium: China, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand
