  • About WLN Meeting

    The APEC Women Leaders Network (WLN) comprises women leaders in all sectors, including business, academia, government, and civil society, from the 21 APEC economies.
    In 2010, as the APEC chair, Japan hosted the 15th APEC WLN Meeting from September 19 to 21, 2010, in Tokyo, Japan.
    The overall theme of the meeting was "Creation of New Global Economic Activities by Women - Realization through People, Nature and Culture-", focusing on women and economy.
    At the 15th Meeting, we sought the possibility with a global point of view that women's participation in all fields, especially economic field, would revitalize society and market and Active discussions were held on the issues throughout the Meeting.

        An excursion will leave the site the evening of the second day of the WLN meeting, visiting interesting facilities and sightseeing spots around Tokyo and offering an opportunity to have dinner together and socialize.
        Pre-registration is required. Please register for the excursion when you register for the meeting.

        Several events were held to introduce Japanese traditional culture during the period of the meeting.
      • Exhibition
        Gender equality-related groups in Japan held exhibitions introducing their activities during the period of the meeting.
        There were photo exhibitions of women leaders active in the APEC member economies
